Italo Campilii

Author of The Mentor Economy and co-founder of MentorMe. He writes and builds at the edge where hard-won human expertise meets AI — and argues, against the grain, that experience is becoming the scarce asset, not the obsolete one.

The bio

Italo Campilii is an author and solo operator who builds and runs businesses with fleets of AI agents rather than a payroll. His work centers on one idea: the arrival of AI does not devalue decades of real experience — it removes the operational ceiling that used to cap how many people a single expert could actually help.

He calls the resulting market the mentor economy — distinct from the creator economy, which sells attention, and the gig economy, which sells hours. In the mentor economy the product is transformation: a specific person reaching a specific outcome because the mentor already did the thing, with an AI delivery layer handling the repeatable work underneath.

Campilii writes this thesis into a library of practical books — including The Mentor Economy, The Bottleneck Is You, Get Found by AI, and The One-Person Business Playbook — and documents what he learns in an ongoing field ledger of dispatches. He is a co-founder of MentorMe. The books are offered free; readers cover only shipping.

Story angles for press
01
The mentor economy is a third thing

Not the creator economy (which sells attention) and not the gig economy (which sells hours). A market where the product is transformation — a specific person reaching a specific result because someone already walked that path. Italo argues AI is the infrastructure that finally makes it work at any scale.

02
One-person businesses run on AI agent fleets

Italo builds and runs multiple brands as a solo operator by orchestrating fleets of AI agents — planning with frontier models, executing with cheaper ones. A concrete, non-hype look at what a genuinely leveraged one-person operation actually looks like day to day.

03
Experience just became the scarce asset

The counter-narrative to "AI makes your experience obsolete." AI generates information instantly; it does not generate judgment earned over decades. Italo makes the case for why 15–30 years of domain expertise is the one thing that appreciates.

04
The books, written under a four-hour constraint

A library of practical books on the mentor economy and one-person businesses — offered free, readers cover only shipping. Built inside a real four-hour-a-day working limit, used as a forcing function rather than a lifestyle claim.
